Client Background

The historic Wagner House, a Mediterranean Revival-style house, was built in the early 1920s.

Project Overview

The project consisted of the historical restoration, rehabilitation, and adaptive reuse of the Tennis Center, construction of a new fitness center, and installation of a center tennis court at the same address.

Our Role

JOA Group acted as project manager during the planning and design phase of the restoration of the Anaheim Tennis Center. JOA Group’s project management role during planning included RFP preparation for design consultant, design consultant selection, review of design plan submittals, and preparation of cost estimates. JOA Group also managed the construction phase development, value engineering, preparation of contractor pre-qualification document, and review contractor qualification submittals

Project Challenges

Due to the age and history of the building, the main challenge was to work closely with the architect to determine cost-effective ways to rehabilitate and to minimize unforeseen conditions during construction.
